Vent: My smart thermostat lost Wi-Fi and cooked my apartment

Came home to 90 degree heat last Tuesday because my Ecobee dropped the network and just stopped running. Had to reset the whole thing manually. Anyone else have a 'smart' device fail because of something as dumb as a router reboot?

Ever tried setting a daily schedule instead of relying on the wifi?

My wifi went down for 3 hours last Tuesday and my toddler lost his mind because he couldn't watch Blippi. Tried the daily schedule thing and the only thing it reliably scheduled was my kid screaming at the dead router.
