A garage remote mix-up left me staring into a stranger's tool stash

I pressed my garage door button and it popped open the shed two houses down. Now I know they have a full set of power tools I've been wanting to borrow, but asking feels shady since I saw them by accident. Is it wrong to bring it up or should I just forget it happened?

Hold up, your remote opened a garage TWO HOUSES down? That's some wild signal range, man. I'd be less worried about borrowing tools and more worried my remote is basically a magic wand for every garage on the block. That's the real plot twist here.

Had the exact same thing happen when my car remote unlocked my neighbor's workshop. Spotted their perfect miter saw setup through the window and immediately felt so awkward. Ended up never mentioning it because it felt like admitting I'd been snooping.

What if @corap21's neighbor actually saw the whole thing through the window too? They might be waiting for you to say something so they can talk shop about that miter saw. The awkward silence works both ways sometimes.

Wait, you could see a 'perfect miter saw setup' through the window? That's wild lol. I'd be dying of awkwardness too, but honestly, if it's that visible, maybe they're proud of it and wouldn't mind talking tools. In your case, OP, bringing it up could be fine if you frame it as a funny accident. Just say your remote went haywire and you noticed their collection, ask if they're into woodworking or something. Worst they can say is no, right?
