Threw away $300 on cheap epoxy before trying a proper 2-part system for my garage floor
After 6 months of peeling and yellowing from the $40 kit at the home center, I redid it with a real 2-part urethane from a proper floor supply place and it's been rock solid through a whole winter of salt and snow melt, anyone else make the same mistake with the cheap stuff?

Had a buddy who bought the cheap epoxy for his driveway, swore it was fine for six months. Then a single winter salt patch ate through it like acid. He spent a whole weekend grinding it off and still walks around muttering about the time he wasted.

Wait, did your friend actually find a place that sells only flooring stuff? My buddy Jake walked into a big box store last month and spent TWO HOURS looking for someone to even tell him what kind of subfloor he needed. He finally found a hole-in-the-wall place and the guy just walked him through everything in like 10 minutes.
