Showerthought: My compost pile got taken over by engineered bacteria.

I added some bioengineered composting microbes to speed things up, but now it heats up so much it's cooking my garden tools. Makes you think about how we mess with nature without seeing the whole picture.

Nothing says progress like your shovel getting a slow roast. Those microbes are just too efficient for their own good. Next thing you know, they'll start seasoning the metal.

Doesn't this happen all the time with tech fixes? We add something to make life easier, but it backfires in ways we didn't see coming. Like how smart home gadgets can get hacked or how ready-made food saves time but hurts our health. We're always dealing with the fallout from these quick fixes. What's the next thing we'll speed up only to have it cause trouble?
