Spotted a gorgeous banded agate in the drainage ditch by my apartment.

I never thought I'd see something so cool right in my neighborhood.

But is a rock in a ditch really that big of a deal? Drainage ditches are full of all sorts of junk, so finding a pretty stone seems kinda normal. I mean, agates are cool, but it's not like you struck gold or something. Maybe just enjoy it without making it into a huge thing. People get excited over the smallest stuff these days.

Let people enjoy things. Seriously, it costs nothing to let someone be happy about a rock. Finding a cool agate is a bright spot in a boring day. It's like getting a good parking spot or your coffee order being just right. Those little wins are what get people through the week. Why pour cold water on that?

Actually heard a psychologist on a podcast say that finding joy in small, everyday things is a sign of good mental health. Letting people have their little wins costs nothing.

My entire mood for the week is based on whether my toaster gets the bread to the right shade of brown. A cool rock is a major event. Let the man have his shiny ditch treasure.
