The new bike trail cut right through a shale outcrop and I'm fuming
They cleared land for the trail last month. Exposed shale layers are now cracking from foot traffic. I studied the rock formations there for school. Now it's ruined for anyone who wants to learn.

Call the parks department before the freeze-thaw cycle really messes it up.

Why does that make such a difference timing it before a freeze? I used to figure a crack in the pavement was just a crack, you know? But seeing how one winter can turn a small split into a huge broken mess totally changed my mind. It's crazy how fast water getting in there and expanding can wreck things. Now I get why calling right away actually matters.
