PSA: My old mentor's stories about glass cutting

He used to talk about scoring glass by hand with a simple cutter, no lasers in sight. Nowadays, it's all digital precision, but I wonder if we've lost some skill. Any old-timers feel the same?

New tools miss the feel of the old ways.

Absolutely! Like, I learned on a manual typewriter in school, and the clack of those keys was so satisfying. Now my keyboard is just silent mush, and it doesn't feel the same at all. You really felt like you were making something back then.

Totally, @the_jennifer (I learned the old way too).

Wait, do we actually miss the feel or just the idea of it? Some of those old tools were straight up frustrating, @oscarw17. Like, the results were cool but the process could be a total pain. New stuff gets the job done without the hassle, and that's a win for me. I get the nostalgia but I wouldn't go back.
