My big change with hunting hidden cash since last summer

Used to check under benches and planters near the mall entrance. Always found coins, maybe a dollar. But last August I started checking behind trash cans and under parked cars by the bus station. Found a $50 gift card to a diner tucked under a soda machine. Now I focus on less obvious spots where people drop stuff by accident. Anyone else change where they look and get better results?

Deep down, you think you're gonna find a gold bar or something?

Nah, I found a 1964 silver quarter under a gum machine at a gas station last month, so people who dismiss the "gold bar" mindset are missing the point. It's not about finding something huge, it's about the thrill of proving all the folks who walk right past it wrong.

Yeah people overlook the obvious spots. Same thing happens with dropped change at vending machines or parking meters. Everyone checks the ground right under them but nobody bends down to look under the machine or behind it.
