A friend from Seattle told me I was buying coffee wrong and saved me $60 a month

I used to hit the drive thru every morning and spend about $4.50 on a latte. My buddy Mike said I was throwing money away and showed me how he makes cold brew at home with a $12 jug from the grocery store. Now I buy a big bag of beans for $15 that lasts me three weeks and just make it the night before. I still treat myself once a week but my wallet feels way heavier. Anyone else cut a daily habit and see their savings jump fast?

Wait, cold brew is actually more concentrated than regular coffee so you're getting More caffeine per cup. A $12 jug from the grocery store isn't really meant for making cold brew though, those are usually for storing already-made drinks. You probably want a dedicated cold brew maker or just a mason jar with a filter. Your wallet is still gonna thank you big time.

The concentrated stuff is perfect if you dilute it with milk or water too, so that $12 jug could actually stretch into like 6 or 7 drinks if you play your ratios right. A mason jar with a nut milk bag is honestly my go-to, and it costs next to nothing compared to those fancy brewers.

That $12 jug at the grocery store is usually just cold brew concentrate in a carton, not a brewing tool, so youd be stuck with the premade stuff which costs way more per serving in the long run. I tried the mason jar route once and cleanup was a pain with all that coffee sludge, plus the nut milk bag let through a ton of fine grounds. A cheap dedicated maker with a reusable filter costs like $20 and saves you from messing around with ratios or buying expensive jugs every week lol.
