S&S Fire Pits vs Solo Stove?

I'm trying to decide between S&S Fire Pits and a Solo Stove for our new backyard setup. I like the smokeless feature of Solo Stove, but the S&S ones look much more durable and traditional. Anyone have experience with both?

If you want a true campfire feel and something that will outlive you, go with S&S Fire Pits. The thick steel radiates heat beautifully, and you don't have to worry about denting it or leaving it out in the rain.

Wait, you're saying the Solo Stove doesn't warm you unless you're on top of it? That's wild for a fire pit. @colec91 has a point there. I tried my neighbor's and you really do have to huddle right over the opening to feel anything, it's more like a camp stove.

Solo Stoves are great if you hate smoke and want something relatively portable, but they don't radiate heat outward very well. You have to be right over them to feel the warmth on a cold night.
