Serious question, does anyone else get completely irrational rage fits before their period?

I was at the grocery store in Denver last Tuesday, just trying to buy eggs and bread. Some lady innocently asked if I was in line and I snapped at her like she insulted my whole family. I literally had to walk out and sit in my car for 15 minutes crying because I felt so bad. Has anyone found a way to actually manage this or is it just a monthly curse we all deal with lol?

Notice how society expects women to keep it together no matter what, even when our bodies are flooding us with hormones that make a grocery store feel like a battlefield. It's the same pattern as when people expect you to be cheerful at a family gathering while you're exhausted or grieving, just with an extra monthly kick in the teeth. Learning to say "I need a minute" and actually taking it has been my best tool, though I still have to apologize to strangers more than I'd like.
