Told my therapist SSRIs were useless, tried them for 6 weeks in Seattle and now I actually get out of bed before noon
I was dead set against meds for years, thought it was just mind over matter. The third week hit and I felt this weird calm, like my brain finally shut up for once. Anyone else have a moment where the thing you swore you'd never do actually worked?

Oh man, same here... I literally told my doctor I'd rather just tough it out than take "happy pills." Around week 4 I realized I wasn't dreading waking up every single morning, it was such a weird shift. Wish I'd done it years ago honestly.

Man that week 4 shift is wild, it's like your brain finally stops fighting itself and you can just exist without the constant noise. I remember hitting that point and actually laughing at something stupid and being like wait, when did I last do that? It's crazy how we normalize feeling like garbage for years until something finally shows us what baseline is supposed to feel like.
