picked the wrong paint finish for my living room and now i hate it

Last month i redid my living room in Des Moines and had to pick between eggshell and satin paint. I went with satin cause i thought it would be easier to clean since my dog likes putting his nose on the walls. But now every single light fixture makes the walls look streaky and shiny like a cheap office. I spent $120 on two gallons of Behr paint and i just feel stupid every time i walk in there. Has anyone else messed up a paint finish choice and had to live with it for a while?

Matte paint fixed this for me. Rolled a coat of Behr matte right over the satin and it killed all the shine and streaks.

Oh man, I actually read somewhere that putting matte over satin can be tricky if you don't prep right, but it's good to hear it worked for you. @the_wade, did you have to do any sanding first or just roll it straight on? I've got a hallway with this awful satin that shows every little smudge and I'm tempted to try the same thing. Heard Behr's matte is pretty thick so it probably hides stuff well.
