Unpopular opinion: my "pencil sketch first" rule almost ruined my mural
I spent 3 hours sketching out this massive mural on my garage wall last weekend, then realized I'd drawn it 6 inches too high on the left side. Had to paint over the whole thing with a $12 can of primer and start fresh. Anybody else ever waste way too much time on prep work that backfired?

And I spent a whole afternoon leveling a shelf that ended up being completely useless anyway.
