I used to laugh at people buying filtered water bottles, then I tested my tap
Honestly, I spent years rolling my eyes at folks dropping $30 on Brita pitchers or those fancy Berkey filters. Figured it was all marketing hype. Then last month I got a home water test kit from Amazon for $15 and found out my local supply has lead levels at 12 parts per billion, which is right near the EPA limit. Now I'm the guy with a fridge full of filtered water. Anyone else have a health claim they mocked until they actually looked at the data?

...but 12 ppb is still within the legal limit, isn't it? Feels like a lot of people panic over numbers without knowing what they actually mean.
