Watched a neighbor's lawn go from brown to green in 3 days after he hired a local service

Turns out the guy had been watering at noon every day for 2 years and the lawn care company just told him to switch to 6am... has anyone else had a service fix something simple you were doing wrong?

Payed a lawn guy good money to tell me to stop mowing so short and that was pretty much it. Felt like paying someone to tell me the sky is blue, but hey, the grass is alive now so I guess he earned it.

Man that's rough but also kind of hilarious. I had a similar thing with my lawn guy. I was watering every evening and he just said "you're drowning the roots, do it in the morning so the grass can dry out before night." I felt like an idiot but now it's actually green. Sometimes you just need someone to point out the obvious stuff you're blind to.

Has anyone else been stubborn about stuff like that for years before finally giving in? I used to be the same way with my plants. I had this whole routine where I'd water them whenever they looked droopy, figured that was just how plants worked. Then a neighbor told me I was overwatering and I basically laughed it off for two seasons. But last year I finally tried just watering once a week deep and letting them dry out between. Man, everything perked up and I felt like such a dummy for ignoring the obvious for so long. It's crazy how sometimes the simplest fix is the one we fight the most, right?
