Letter I wrote to my old boss after my HVAC van broke down mid-call

Honestly I should have sent this months ago. My old boss refused to maintain the fleet. I was on a service call in Phoenix last August and the compressor seized up at 2pm in 112 degree heat. Customer was waiting, no backup van, and I had to call a tow. That day I decided to go independent and bought my own truck the next week. Anyone else had a work vehicle failure that pushed you to make a big change?

I mean, maybe the boss was trying to keep costs down for a reason. Sometimes a breakdown can push you to make a move you were already thinking about anyway.

Yeah but how many breakdowns did it take before you actually made that move?

Man, getting my own truck was the best thing I ever did for my sanity.
