Changed my mind about tracking down my old shop foreman after 3 years
Last month I was dead set on finding my foreman from a job site in Austin back in 2022. Guy named Hank. He was a hard boss, always on my case about measuring twice. I wanted to find him just to tell him he was right about a framing mistake I made that cost us a day. But last week I ran into his old partner at Home Depot. He told me Hank passed away from a heart attack six months ago. Kinda changed my whole reason for looking. Now I just want to find his family to say he taught me something. Anyone else ever look for someone and the reason shifts halfway through?

Isn't it funny how life keeps moving your target while you're still aiming?

Did he ever figure out what he actually needed closure on, or did that awkward driveway moment kill the whole thing?

My buddy Chris had this whole mission to track down his old high school coach to thank him for not kicking him off the team for skipping practice. Spent months asking around, finally found an address, drove two hours. Coach answered the door in his bathrobe at 3pm, didn't even remember who Chris was, just squinted at him and said "you selling something?" Chris just mumbled sorry and left. Made him realize the whole thing was more about him needing closure than the coach needing to hear it.
