Finally found a decent coffee shop in the Brookhaven area after 3 bad tries

I’ve been looking for a place to grab a quick latte near my new apartment off Peachtree Road, and the first two spots I tried were either super slow or the coffee tasted burnt. But last Saturday, I walked into this little place called Daily Grind on Dresden Drive and it actually surprised me. The barista remembered my order after just one visit, which felt nice, and the espresso had this smooth flavor without being bitter. I paid like $4.50 for a medium, which seems normal for the area, and they didn’t tack on any weird fees. The wifi worked fine too, which is rare for me. Has anyone else found a solid coffee spot around here that doesn’t mess up a simple order?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. Brookhaven coffee roulette is real. I tried some place off Peachtree last month that shall remain nameless and I swear they used dishwater for their cold brew. But Daily Grind sounds legit, thanks for the tip. $4.50 for a medium with no hidden fees in 2024 is practically a miracle. Maybe they don't charge extra because they're actually busy making good coffee instead of coming up with new ways to nickel and dime you.

Alright but I gotta push back on this a little lol. These small coffee shops charging extra for oat milk aren't trying to rip you off, they're literally trying to stay open. Oat milk costs like double what regular milk costs wholesale, and these places aren't Amazon with infinite cash flow. Also @umar49 I get what you're saying about the "artisan" thing but honestly if a shop remembers your name after one visit that's a sign they're actually paying attention and not just some soulless chain. That kind of service costs something even if it's not on the receipt. And $4.50 for a medium with no extras sounds great on paper but have you seen the rent on Peachtree lately? If they're charging that little and not adding fees I'm honestly wondering how tf they're paying their baristas a living wage. Sometimes the hidden fees are what keeps a local spot from closing down after six months.

Has anyone else ever walked into a place so proud of their "artisan" coffee that they charge an extra 50 cents for oat milk? Like bro, just let me have my basic latte without feeling like I'm funding a startup. Tbh I'm the kind of person who still accidentally orders at the wrong counter, so when a barista remembers my name after one visit I basically propose on the spot. Glad Daily Grind worked out, I might have to drag my caffeine addicted self over there this weekend and hope I don't trip over my own two feet walking in.
