Warning about those cheap solar lights at the Dunwoody Home Depot

Picked up a 12-pack of the $15 solar path lights from the Dunwoody Home Depot last Saturday. By Tuesday, 4 of them had the tops pop off after one rainstorm and the batteries corroded inside. Learned my lesson, you gotta spend at least $3 per light or they just fall apart. Anyone found a decent brand that lasts more than a month around here?

I read that those cheap solar lights use the worst batteries that leak in any moisture.

Same here @murray.cora, I switched to name brand NiMH cells and they actually last more than a month.

Wait, the tops just popped off? That's wild. I've been using some from the Target on Ashford Dunwoody, they're like $8 for a 2-pack, they held up through the whole summer so far. But @murray.cora you're right about those cheap batteries, they turn into little science experiments in the rain.
