My salad dressing mistake taught me a lesson

I picked up a bottle of low-fat dressing without reading the full label. It had a ton of added sugar to make up for less fat. I used it for a week and felt more tired than usual. Now I know to scan for sugar and salt on every product. What common nutrition facts do you think are easy to miss?

Ngl, the food industry loves playing these games with 'healthy' labels. Low-fat just means they pumped it full of sugar to taste good. I fell for that with granola bars once, thought they were good for me but they were basically candy. Now I scan for anything ending in '-ose' on the ingredients list. It's like a treasure hunt where the prize is not feeling like garbage after eating.

Spot on, @michaelr38. These labels are basically lies. I fell for 'low-fat' yogurt that tasted like liquid candy. Now I spend more time reading boxes than actually eating. The companies just play musical chairs with ingredients to keep us buying. It's a joke how hard they make it to eat decent food. But yeah, hunting for '-ose' is a solid move.

After realizing "these labels are basically lies," I started buying fresh produce and making my own snacks!
