PSA: That $500 business coach I hired last month wasted my time with generic advice

I paid a local OC entrepreneur coach $500 for a session last month thinking they'd give me tailored marketing tips for my coffee cart, and they just read off a printed checklist I could've googled for free. They didn't even ask about my specific foot traffic in Irvine or my roastery margins. Has anyone else found a real OC mentor who actually gets the local scene?

The Wendy one is actually a different problem though. Like at least she got told to do something specific even if it was bad advice. Yours sounds like they literally didn't even try to learn anything about your setup.

Oh jeez, another $500 down the drain for a checklist you could've grabbed off a five minute YouTube video. Did they at least ask you what your daily traffic looks like around the Irvine Spectrum or which hours you're actually slinging coffee? I swear these "coaches" think one size fits all for every brick and mortar and cart in OC.
