Chose ghostwriting over voicing audiobooks and now I'm actually making rent
I had to pick between writing scripts nobody hears and narrating books for $50 a pop, and I went with the silent gig. Three months in, I've got three regular clients and it beats talking into a mic for 8 hours straight. Anyone else ditch a more visible job for a behind-the-scenes one?

$500 for a weekend ghostwriting job was my rent back in 2019. I wrote this cheesy ebook for a guy who claimed to be a "business guru" but could barely spell two-syllable words. It pays surprisingly well for something that feels like I'm doing someone else's homework.

kimfisher wait til you hear about the ghostwriters who write memoirs for people who barely remember their own lives. like, someone paid me once to write a whole book about their 'amazing life story' but they kept forgetting what they did last weekend.
