Showerthought: Why does every DIY video use a heat gun for fixing a nonstick pan when you could just use a kitchen torch instead?

I watched 4 different tutorials last night and none of them mentioned that a cheap $20 creme brulee torch works faster and safer than their fancy $50 heat gun, and now I wonder if any of these people actually cook or just film for views, anyone else notice this trend?

Yeah you're totally right about that "heat gun distributes the heat way more evenly" bit. I messed up a job once using a torch on some old paint and ended up scorching the wood underneath because the heat was so concentrated in one spot. A friend of mine who's a contractor swears by heat guns for stuff like that, says you can control it way better without risking damage. Sucks when you learn the hard way, but at least now we know for next time.
