Why nobody talks about using a bread clip to fix a wobbly table
I had this one restaurant table in Portland that would spill drinks every shift until I slid a bread clip under the short leg. Has anyone else found random household stuff that fixes furniture better than store-bought shims?

Ha! That's awesome, @alicecraig's buddy sounds like my kind of person. I once kept a warped porch chair level for two summers with a folded-up Denny's gift card.

@alicecraig's chip bag clip story reminds me of my own coffee table that's held up by a stack of those blue IKEA furniture pads. We had a buddy visit who tried to fix it with a matchbook but the paper just kept sliding out. What's the longest someone's kept a janky piece of furniture going with random junk?

My buddy Jake had this rickety old coffee table that drove his girlfriend nuts for months. It was one of those cheap particle board things from a yard sale and the crossbars were basically disintegrating. He ended up wedging a stack of those red plastic chip bag clips under the wobbly corner and it held steady for over a year. That table stayed level through movie nights, board game tournaments, and even a surprise cat attack that sent a lamp flying. Dude refused to buy a new table because that stack of clips became a running joke every time someone brought up home improvement.
