Rant: My paid 'professional' sandbagging job was a total SCAM

I paid a guy $200 last spring to sandbag my basement before a big storm, but he just stacked them loose against the wall without sealing the gaps. When the water came in, it soaked right through and ruined my carpet anyways. Has anyone else run into fake disaster prep workers who don't actually know what they're doing?

Yeah, seems like half the people charging for stuff these days are just winging it.

Wait did you used to think those people actually knew what they were doing? lol I was totally in that boat too until my buddy paid some "social media guru" $500 to help his food truck get more business. Dude literally just told him to post pictures of the food and use hashtags. My buddy could've figured that out himself in 5 minutes. Makes me wonder how many of these "experts" are just regular people who watched a couple YouTube videos and decided to start charging.
