Had a face lift in Austin last June and now I can't recognize myself in photos

I used to just angle my phone down and squint to avoid seeing my jowls in selfies. After spending $12,000 with Dr. Melendez, I look like a stretched out version of my mom from 1995. Recovery took 6 weeks of sleeping upright and eating pudding. Has anyone else felt weird about looking different than your driver's license photo?

@claire_young76 I used to think the same way until I went through it myself. Looking different in the mirror vs photos is a whole different kind of weird than what you expect.

My wallet hurts just reading that $12,000 number. I mean sure, looking different is weird but you paid a surgeon to change your face. What did you expect, to look exactly the same but without jowls? Seems like you got exactly what you paid for.

Girl, I hear you on the price tag. But a friend of mine got a facelift and she said the weirdest part wasn't the swelling - it was catching her reflection in a store window and not recognizing herself for a split second. She swore she'd pay double just to skip that part.
