Why does nobody mention the smell after a rhinoplasty?
I went to see my cousin last month after she got her nose done in Phoenix. She was about 3 weeks out and she told me the worst part wasn't the pain or the swelling. It was this weird, musty smell she couldn't get rid of. She said it was from the internal stitches and dried blood packing up in there. I thought she was exaggerating until I smelled it myself when she leaned close to show me a picture. It honestly smelled like a wet dog mixed with something metallic. Now I'm prepping for my own rhinoplasty in a few months and I'm already dreading that part. Has anyone else dealt with that weird nose smell and found a way to deal with it?
Does the smell ever really come out of your clothes or is that just a lie we tell ourselves? I had to throw away my favorite hoodie after one trip to the shelter because no amount of washing could fix it. That smell just sits in your nose for the rest of the day, and nobody warns you about it until it's too late.
