Appreciation post: Finally got the city to fix the crater on Maple Ave after 14 months

I submitted that pothole near the bus stop on Maple Ave about 14 months ago, and after 4 follow ups and a picture of a sedan's busted axle, they finally patched it last Tuesday. Feels like a small victory but it saved my neighbor from having to replace another tire. Anyone else had a surprise win like this after bugging the city forever?

Can't believe they actually fixed it, I figured they were just waiting for that pothole to evolve into a full sinkhole and swallow a bus.

Actually it was 14 months not 15... sorry, couldn't help myself. But yeah, I remember that pothole on Maple, it was basically a small pond every time it rained. My buddy dented his rim on it back in January and the city basically told him to kick rocks. Funny how it takes someone getting hurt or a car getting messed up for them to actually do something. Glad they finally fixed it though, that whole stretch is a lot smoother now.

Hah, tell your buddy I feel his pain. I managed to hit that puddle wrong one night and it sprayed water all over a guy on a bike, felt terrible. Guess I'm part of the reason they finally fixed it, maybe the universe's way of balancing out my clumsiness. At least now I can drive down Maple without holding my breath and dodging craters. Small victories, right?
