Just realized my brake fluid was 4 years overdue for a flush at Laguna Seca
I checked my logbook after my last session and saw the last flush was stamped July 2020. Found a thread on a forum saying old fluid absorbs water and boils way easier on track, which explains why my pedal felt spongy after 3 laps. Has anyone else noticed a huge difference after a fresh flush, or am I overthinking this?

... yeah, I had the same issue at Thunderhill last year, pedal went super soft after a few hot laps and it scared me enough to check everything. Fresh fluid was a night and day difference, the bite point stayed consistent no matter how hard I pushed. Totally worth doing if you're tracking it, saves you from that sinking feeling mid-corner.

Night and day difference. Feels like a new car.

Wait, you were skeptical too at first? I totally get that, because I used to think brake fluid was just brake fluid (like, how much difference could it really make?). But @shane_clark talking about that Thunderhill experience really hit home - I had the exact same thing happen at my local track day, pedal went all soft and spongy after just a few laps and I was honestly scared. Swapped to fresh fluid and it was a completely different car, the pedal stayed firm and sharp the whole session, no more guessing where the bite point was. I feel dumb for ignoring it for so long, honestly.
