Blew $120 on a meal kit subscription before realizing I hate cooking every night
Signed up for HelloFresh after seeing all those ads. First box came, looked great. By day 3 I was staring at a bag of pre-chopped onions wondering why I didn't just order pizza. Cancelled after 2 weeks, lost $120 on stuff half of it went bad in my fridge. Anyone else get suckered by meal kits and end up eating takeout anyway?

I get the frustration, but I actually had the opposite experience with meal kits. Saying "I hate cooking every night" feels a bit dramatic to me, it sounds like you just didn't want to put in ten minutes to sear some chicken. I get tired after work too, but having the ingredients ready made me actually cook instead of blowing money on delivery. Did you try any of the no-chopping or 15 minute meal options, or did you just let it pile up in the fridge?

You're missing the point a little bit. The issue isn't that people don't want to spend ten minutes searing chicken, it's that after a long day even that ten minutes feels like a chore when you do it every single night. Meal kits are great until you realize you still have to do the dishes, prep the veggie, and not screw up the timing. And yeah, I tried the 15 minute options, but sometimes I'd get home and just want to throw something in the microwave without thinking about it. It's not about being lazy, it's about mental exhaustion from decision fatigue and having a plan fail. Sounds like you found a system that works for you, but not everyone's brain or schedule works the same way.
