Just realized my '0% interest' credit card offer wasn't what I thought
I signed up for a store card at Best Buy last year, thinking I'd get 0% on a new TV for 12 months. Turns out, buried in the fine print, there's a deferred interest clause that hits you with like 26% on the full original amount if you're even a day late on a payment. Found this out when I saw a $180 fee on my statement and dug through the paperwork... my fault for not reading closer, I guess. Has anyone else gotten burned by one of these deferred interest traps?

Do they really expect people to catch that stuff without a magnifying glass? Honestly feels like they design these cards just hoping you'll slip up once.

Isn't that just the way things are going now though? Everything from instructions to labels seems intentionally tiny or confusing. They probably figure if it's hard to read, you'll just give up and not bother. Then when you mess up, it's your fault for not squinting hard enough. It's like they're banking on you making a mistake so they don't have to own up to their own bad design. Kind of reminds me of all those fine print contracts nobody actually reads until it's too late.
