Pro tip: Seeing all those reality show injuries made me rethink my gym routine.

Watched a marathon of extreme competition shows last week. Every other episode had someone pulling a muscle or twisting an ankle for drama. It hit me that I push too hard sometimes just to feel tough. Now I warm up properly and listen to my body. My workouts are safer and I actually feel better.

My buddy from the gym blew out his shoulder last month. He was trying to lift too much without proper form. Now he's stuck in physical therapy, so what's the rush?

His shoulder blew out from bad form? I hope he recovers quick.

Bad form is a huge deal... I saw a post on a fitness forum that talked about how most shoulder injuries come from rushing lifts. It reminded me of what @the_brooke mentioned about ego... people ignoring their limits just to look strong. I've heard from trainers that once you hurt your shoulder, it can take months to heal properly. It's not worth the risk... better to lift light with good form than heavy with bad technique. Just sucks to see guys out of action because they didn't listen to their bodies.

How much of it is just ego? People ignore their limits trying to look strong.
