Update: My perfect NES game find is making me mad

I found a Nintendo game in mint condition. I paid a lot for it because it was so nice. Now I don't want to open it and play. Others say to keep it sealed, but that feels wrong. This obsession with condition takes away from the games themselves.

You bought a game you can't play, genius. It's a fancy paperweight now.

It's still cool to own stuff... maybe my console will get an update later. Collecting things has its own vibe.

Look at it this way, amy_craig28. Sometimes you just like having the thing on your shelf, and that's okay. The update might come later, or you might find a cheap used console later to actually play it. Hannah makes a fair point about it being a paperweight right now, but is that the end of the world? In my experience, collecting is half about the "maybe someday" anyway. Just don't spend your rent money on it.

Yeah, that collecting vibe amy_craig28 mentioned is real. Having the actual case on a shelf just hits different than a download icon.
