I was dead wrong about refurbished laptops from 2019
Honestly I thought refurbs were just someone else's junk with a fresh sticker on it. Then I grabbed a 2017 ThinkPad for $180 from a seller on eBay with 30 day returns and it's been running solid for over 2 years now. Anyone else had a refurb that surprised them?
haha yeah but honestly I had the opposite experience with a refurb Dell from 2019. Got it off Amazon Renewed for like $400 and it’s still kicking, battery lasts 4 hours and no ghostly 3am wakeups. Sounds like you just got a lemon, that refurb luck seems to be hit or miss.
Oh man, I have to totally disagree here. I tried a refurbished 2018 Dell from one of those big refurbishers a couple years ago and it was a total nightmare. The battery lasted maybe an hour out of the box, the keyboard had a sticky Enter key that drove me nuts, and the whole thing felt like it was held together with hope and tape. I ended up sending it back after a week and just saving up for a new, basic model instead. The extra $300 I paid for new was totally worth it for the peace of mind (and the full warranty, you know?).
