Why I regret buying a used gaming laptop for $350 off Facebook Marketplace
Picked up an Asus ROG from some guy last spring, thought I got a steal. Turns out the battery only lasts 20 minutes unplugged and the screen has a dead pixel cluster I didn't notice til I got home. Has anyone else had luck getting a refund on marketplace stuff or is it just a loss?

Yeah you pretty much have to take the L with marketplace. I used to think oh just message the guy and he'll make it right but nah people just block you and move on. Had a similar thing with a PS4, lesson learned.

Oh man that sucks, I feel you. I bought a "barely used" Xbox One off Craigslist a couple years ago and the disc drive was totally shot, wouldn't read anything. The guy ghosted me after like two texts, it was so frustrating. At least with your situation you still got a laptop that works for basic stuff even if the battery is basically a paperweight, but yeah marketplace is always buyer beware, no real way to get your money back unless you want to show up at their door and that's sketchy.
