Phone app with rain sounds masks my neighbor's dog

The dog next door barks at night and wakes me up. I play a rain sounds app on my phone, and it covers the noise. What apps or sounds do you recommend for sleep?

Brown noise on my old phone actually worked better than rain for covering barks. The app masks the sound, not the dog itself, which is key for sleep. I've found low rumble sounds like a distant thunderstorm or even a simple box fan recording can drown out sharp noises better. Once I used a cafe ambient noise app, and the chatter and clinks oddly helped more than nature sounds. Experiment with different background noises, since everyone's brain filters sound differently.

Sometimes I angle my speaker toward the wall... the bounce back mixes with direct sound and covers gaps in noise masking. Found it by accident when my phone slid off the nightstand.

That bounce back trick with @noah872's brown noise works wonders.
