My own backyard looked like a different planet after 3 months of rain
Moved into a house in Portland last fall. Yard was dry dirt and dead grass. Then winter hit and we got 47 inches of rain by February. Now there's moss everywhere, ferns popping up, and a mushroom I've never seen before. The change was wild. Has anyone else had their whole property transform just from weather?

looked just like the ones in a Super Mario game" lol that's hilarious. Nature really does just do whatever it wants.

Watched my buddy's backyard in Seattle turn into a straight-up jungle after one super wet spring. He had this bare patch of dirt that just got covered in these neon green moss patches and random ferns, looked like something from a fantasy movie. The craziest part was the mushrooms (which I still can't identify) that just appeared overnight like aliens landing.

Man, I totally get what you're saying. That sudden explosion of green after a wet spring is something else. I've seen the same thing happen in my own backyard here in Portland, where we get those long rainy stretches. One year I had this little patch of dirt next to the fence that just turned into a full on moss carpet, like a miniature golf course. Then boom, these little brown mushrooms with white spots pop up, looked just like the ones in a Super Mario game, still have no idea what they were. It's wild how fast nature takes over when you just stop fighting it for a second. Really makes you appreciate how alive the ground actually is.
