Why does nobody talk about how expensive those fancy coffee makers get

I dropped $600 on a bean-to-cup machine from a local shop in Portland six months ago and it broke after three uses, so now I'm back to my $20 French press, has anyone else had a pricey appliance fail way faster than the cheap version?

Jamie's right, it does suck. Had the same thing happen with a used truck I bought last year. First thing you should do is pull the owner's manual and look at the maintenance schedule. Most people skip the simple stuff like checking fluids and belts. If you caught it before the engine started making noises, you might get away with just replacing a sensor or a gasket. Otherwise, you're looking at a full rebuild or a swap. Either way, start saving for the worst case now.

Jamie_adams, it's wild how stuff always breaks right when you're least ready for it.
