Always thought the fire noodle stall at the market was overhyped
Honestly, I figured their challenge was just for show and never bothered. Tbh, what changed my mind was running into my coworker Jake there last Saturday. He was sweating buckets but smiling after finishing the bowl. Ngl, he told me the broth has Carolina Reapers from a guy's backyard garden in our suburb. Seeing someone I know tackle it made it feel way more legit. Now I get why people line up for it every weekend. I might even try it myself next month.

Feel that hard. I've done the same thing, pretending stuff doesn't hurt until it just gets heavy.

Ha, I was just pretending it didn't destroy me.

What do you do when the pretending stops working? I learned the hard way that ignoring pain just lets it grow. Try setting aside ten minutes each day to just feel whatever comes up. It doesn't have to be big, just admit it's there. Over time, this helps take the power out of those feelings. It's not easy, but it's better than carrying that weight forever.

That "just admit it's there" part is key. What do you do on the days when admitting it feels useless, like it doesn't actually make the weight any lighter? I've found that step can sometimes feel like its own kind of dead end.
