That viral photo of a shark swimming down a flooded street during a hurricane... I tracked it back to a 2011 stock image site.
Took me about 20 minutes with reverse image search to find the original, but the post on Facebook already has 50k shares and people arguing about whether it's real, so has anyone else given up trying to correct these things or do you still call them out?

Honestly I've seen this exact thing happen to like 12 different people on Twitter this week alone. They post a simple opinion about weather or traffic and suddenly someone screenshots it for the "government bot" accusation. Reminds me of that one guy in the r/conspiracy sub who got called a bot for saying his local grocery store ran out of milk. What proof do these people actually have when they throw that label around?

Call you a government bot" - yeah that's the new way to shut down any argument. I just post the original image link with the date and walk away. At least a few people will see it before the thread turns into a dumpster fire.
