Picked between a roller and a spray can for a brick wall mural.

My alley wall has this rough brick surface and I had to choose between using a paint roller or going all in with spray cans. I went with the roller because I thought it'd be faster for covering the red brick with base coat, but it ended up taking 4 coats over two days just to get solid coverage. The spray cans would have cost more but saved me all that drying time between layers. Has anyone else tried rolling on brick and regretted not just buying more cans?

Right. That kind of frustration sticks with you all day. It's like a bad taste you can't shake off. You just want to throw your hands up and walk away sometimes. Hope you get some peace from it soon.
