That $40 stencil I bought online saved my alley mural project

I was working on a big piece behind the laundromat downtown and kept messing up the same letter. After the third try with freehand spray I dropped $40 on a custom stencil from a guy on Etsy. It arrived in two days and let me finish the whole thing in one afternoon without any drips. The paint cost more than the stencil but I saved like 6 hours of rework. Have any of you used laser cut stencils vs hand cutting your own?

Wait $40 for a single stencil? That is insane. I mean I get that it's custom but I could buy a whole case of paint with that money. Did it at least come with some kind of warranty or something? I guess if you're doing a huge mural and it saves you from redoing whole sections it might be worth it but still feels like a lot.

Wow, forty dollars for one stencil? That's a lot for a single project.
