My $200 laser removal mistake that turned into a cover up win

I tried laser removal on a small anchor tattoo on my wrist and after 3 sessions and $200, it barely faded. I was so frustrated that I almost gave up. Then my artist suggested a dark floral piece over it and it looks amazing now. Has anyone else found laser removal was a waste compared to just planning a good cover up?

Eh, three sessions isn't really that many though...

Also, 3 sessions isn't really enough to judge laser removal fairly.

Yeah, totally agree with you @elliotm57. I had six sessions on a small tattoo and it still wasn't fully gone for me. The fading really only started to look noticeable after the fourth or fifth round, so three feels like you're still in the warm-up phase. I mean, it's such a slow process, it almost tricks you into thinking it's not working at first.
