Hit 500 unread emails today and it finally broke me
Honestly, I woke up this morning and saw my inbox at exactly 501 unread messages. I've been ignoring it for like 6 months because every time I open Outlook it freezes my whole laptop for a minute. Decided to finally start deleting stuff but the app kept crashing every 20 emails. Has anyone else just given up on email management and started fresh with a new address?

Read somewhere that email hoarding is basically just digital clutter and it affects your brain the same way a messy room does. Maybe there's some truth to it cause I feel lighter after deleting even just the spam. Starting fresh sounds tempting but then you gotta tell everybody your new address and that's its own nightmare.

Wait, isn't that what the unsubscribe button is for?

Man I feel this. I've got like 4 different email addresses floating around out there and I still use the one from 2008 with like 12,000 unread messages. Deleting spam does feel good but then I remember I subscribed to some dumb newsletter in 2016 and now I gotta hunt down the unsubscribe button which takes like 5 clicks and a confirmation email. Honestly at this point I just archive everything and pretend it doesn't exist until my storage gets full.

Wait, isn't letting the unread count hit 12,000 just a cry for help at that point lol? I feel like once you break 1,000 you're basically living in a committed relationship with your spam and it's too late to break up without a lot of awkward emails.
