Used to think wireless earbuds were a scam, then I dropped my phone in a toilet

I was that guy who swore by wired headphones for years. Kept saying bluetooth earbuds were overpriced and the battery life was a joke. But last month I was fixing a sink at a client's house and my phone slipped out of my pocket right into the toilet bowl. My wired earbuds yanked it in with them. Now I got a pair of cheap Anker wireless ones and honestly not having a cord to snag on everything is kinda nice. Anyone else hold out on a tech change for way too long?

Yeah that whole "wired is better" thing, I held onto that way longer than I should have too. It's funny how we stick with old stuff just cause it's what we know, even when the new thing is actually easier.

I was totally in the opposite camp for years, dead set on wired everything. I thought wireless would always be a hassle with batteries and dropouts. Then I finally tried a decent pair of wireless earbuds last month and honestly, it's night and day. No more untangling cords or getting them caught on doorknobs. The convenience of just popping them in and walking away is huge for me now. You're right, sometimes we just need to give the new stuff a real chance before judging it.

The first time I tried wireless earbuds a few years ago the battery died in like two hours and I swore them off completely. But @moore.beth is right about the newer ones being way better now. My Anker pair last me almost a whole work day and the case charges them three or four times. I still miss the old school sound quality of wired sometimes, but not enough to go back to getting my cord caught on every door handle. The biggest surprise for me was how much lighter they feel in my ears compared to the old bulky ones. Have the battery issues gotten better for you guys or is it just the expensive brands that work well?
