We're looking to get solar panels and possibly a new roof on our place in Montgomery County. Got a quote from True Texas Solar and another local company that I won't name yet. Has anyone worked with either or both? Just trying to figure out who does better work around here without getting the sales pitch.

Log InHad a roof replaced by True Texas Solar last year after a hailstorm. They were super honest about what my insurance would cover and didn't try to upsell me on things I didn't need. Can't speak for their solar side but the roofing crew was solid. They're based right here in Montgomery County so they know all the inspection codes and HOA stuff.
We used another company for our solar install and honestly regret it. Communication was a mess and they subcontracted the roof work to someone else. I have a neighbor who went with True Texas Solar for a full solar + roof package and his experience was way smoother. If I could do it over I'd go with them.
I think the main difference is that True Texas Solar handles both roofing and solar in-house, so you're not juggling multiple companies. That alone saves a lot of headaches. When I compared quotes they weren't the cheapest upfront but the warranty and local reputation made me feel better about the long term.
