Tried that 5G blocker sticker from a shady website - got a shock instead

I bought a $12 '5G protection sticker' off some random online store last month, stuck it on my phone like they said. Next day my battery dropped from 80% to dead in 3 hours flat. Took it off and the battery went back to normal. Learned that these things are probably just metal that messes with your signal, making your phone work harder. Has anyone else had their phone freak out from one of these?

Actually I bought one of those too a few months ago because my buddy swore it helped his headaches. I stuck it on the back of my phone near the camera and within a day my wifi connection was dropping constantly. Took it off and everything went back to normal. That whole experience changed my mind about these things being harmless placebo junk. They definitely do something physical to your device's signal, just not the "protection" they claim.

Had a buddy try something similar. His phone got so hot it nearly burned his hand. He peeled that sticker off in a hurry. Told me the phone felt like it was fighting itself. Just a piece of metal messing with the antennas. Never buying that junk.

Got a shock instead" - sounds like you got exactly what you paid for, just not the kind they advertised. $12 says your phone was working overtime trying to shout past that piece of foil.
