Wasted $80 on a floor pump that looked fancy but leaked air from day one

Bought this sleek aluminum pump from a big box store thinking it'd last forever. After three flats in two weeks I realized the gauge was off by 15 psi and the head seal was garbage. Anyone else had luck with those basic steel pumps that cost half as much?

Depends on which cheap analog gauge you get though, some of those are absolute junk too. I picked up a digital pump a few years back when my old hand pump finally gave out and honestly it's been the most consistent gauge I've owned. Had it checked against a shop gauge at the dealer and it's never been off by more than 2 psi. Maybe you guys just bought the wrong brand or got a lemon. Those cheap parts store gauges can drift like crazy once they get knocked around in a toolbox for a while. Take this for what it's worth but my experience has been the complete opposite.

Gauge was off by 15 psi" - mine was off by 12 on a good day and 20 on a bad one. I finally just went back to a cheap analog gauge from the parts store. At least that one is consistently wrong instead of lying to me with all those flashy numbers.
