Hot take: using a dry erase marker to label leftover containers saved my fridge from chaos
I used to dig through Tupperware guessing what was in there, and I'd end up tossing half of it after three days. Now I just write 'Tuesday's chili' right on the plastic with a dry erase marker, and it wipes off in two seconds when I wash it. Has anyone else found a marker that holds up to condensation better than the cheap ones?

Grab a Sharpie and call it a day, just make sure you don't accidentally use the permanent one like I did last week. Now my 'Thursday meatloaf' is a permanent part of my Tupperware collection, like some kind of creepy museum exhibit. As for condensation, I just stick a piece of masking tape on there and write on that instead, it holds up way better than any marker I've tried. Or you could just live dangerously like my brother who sniffs every container before he opens it, guesswork is a valid strategy too.

The sniff test is a bold move. I've been doing that for years but last week I got burned by my own leftover chili. Thought it was the pasta from two days ago. It wasn't. The masking tape trick is solid though, I've been using blue painter's tape for my lunch containers at job sites and it peels off clean every time.

The blue painter's tape is the way to go. I keep a roll in my lunch bag now. The Sharpie on tape thing works until your tape gets wet and peels off in the fridge. Then you're left guessing like the rest of us.
